OPL’s Amnesty Week

As part of Oneida Public Library’s 90th anniversary celebration and in keeping with National Library Week, the OPL will forgive all overdue fines on OPL’s books and materials that are returned this week, whether they were borrowed 10 months or 10 years ago. The amnesty applies only to materials owned by the OPL.

Oneida, the Historical Railroad Hub
Saturday at 2 p.m.
As part of its 90th Anniversary serving Oneida, the OPL brings in railroad historian John Taibi to present in words and pictures the remarkable history of Oneida as a railroad hub and transfer point in the 19th and early 20th centuries. From Oneida Railway trollies to the New York, Ontario & Western Railway to the New York Central, Taibi will chronicle the rise and fall of Oneida’s glory as a center of railroad transportation.

Old Clay Stone Band

To celebrate its 90th Anniversary, Oneida Library hosts a free after-hours concert by Old Clay Stone, a local band specializing in country, bluegrass and classic rock. Old Clay Stone features David Taylor on 12-string guitar and vocals; Frank Cook on banjo, guitar and vocals; Pat Mercer on mandolin and guitar; Jim Corpin on percussion; and Suzi Taylor on bass.

Oneida Public Library celebrates its 90th Anniversary of service to greater Oneida with a birthday bash open to the public of all ages. Included in the festivities will be children’s entertainment, cake and punch, a Mayoral Proclamation and opportunities for all to share their experiences at the library over the years.
