Hamilton Public Library news
(Hamilton, NY – May 2014) Artwork by local artist John Conti will be featured in the gallery space at the library throughout the next few weeks. Some of John’s favorite materials are oils, acrylic, watercolor, pastels, pen and ink, charcoal and collage.
On Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., the Friends of the Library will be hosting a reception in honor of this exhibition. We hope you’ll join us in visiting with John, celebrating his creative talents and enjoying some refreshments together. John’s artwork will remain on display through mid-June.
The Colgate Bookstore and Hamilton Public Library are again sponsoring the Chenango Valley Scribes young writers and illustrators contest. All community members are invited to the awards reception honoring the area participants from kindergarten through fifth grade.
We hope you’ll join us for this special event Friday, May 16, at 6:30 p.m., in the program room at the Colgate Bookstore. Following the awards reception, the writing submissions will be on display at the library through the beginning of June.
