‘The Monuments Men’ to Play May 21
(Cazenovia) The Monuments Men, based on the true story of the greatest treasure hunt in history, hits the big screen in the Cazenovia Public Library Community Room Wednesday, May 21, at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
The Monuments Men is an action drama focusing on an unlikely World War II platoon, tasked by FDR with going into Germany to rescue artistic masterpieces from Nazi thieves and returning them to their rightful owners. With the art trapped behind enemy lines and with the German army under orders to destroy everything as the Reich fell, how could these men – seven seven museum directors, curators and art historians – possibly hope to succeed? The Monuments Men is rated PG-13 and runs for 118 minutes. As always, admission and popcorn are free.
