Canastota Public Library news
By Elizabeth Totten, public relations
(Canastota, NY – May 2014) The Canastota Public Library is crazy about Tangles. In April, Suzi Guifre DaVia came to the library to teach us how to Tangle. Our participants liked it so much that we’ve started a monthly Tangles Art Club.
The Tangles Art Club will meet on the third Tuesday of Every Month at 10 a.m. Our first meeting of the Club will be held on Tuesday, May 20 in our Lawson Community Room.
All you need to bring with you is a fine black marker and the willingness to learn. Tangle is an amazing art form that anyone can do–no skills required. It’s as relaxing as meditation or yoga, only you use paper and pen. This art form is an easy-to-learn and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well being.
Each month, the Club will work on new patterns and review what they’ve worked on in the past month. It is also an opportunity to see how everyone else used the patterns to create a unique piece of work.
There is no fee and the Tangles Art Club is open to anyone.
If you need additional information, feel free to call the library at 697-7030. The Canastota Public Library is located at 102 W. Center Street in Canastota.
