Oneida police patch(Oneida, NY – May 28, 2014) On May 27 and 28 Oneida City Police arrested four juveniles in connection with the May 17 fire that destroyed a building that was being used for storage, located at Hubbard Place and W. Elm Street.

The fire also caused some damage to the roof at Lowes from embers that had spread from the fire.

A 12 year old, two 14 year olds and a 15 year old were all charged with third-degree Criminal Trespass for allegedly entering the building unlawfully.

In addition, one of the 14 year olds was charged with fourth-degree Arson, a class E Felony. The 14 year old is alleged to have lit papers that were in a box to be recycled, on fire and then spread the burning papers to other boxes of papers.

All four will appear at the Madison County Probation Department to answer the charges.

One arrest of a 17 year old is pending for third-degree Criminal Trespass.

Kathern C. Anson, 27, of West Road, Munnsville was charged May 27 with Petit Larceny. She is alleged to have stolen merchandise from Wal Mart. She is alleged to have fled from the store and was located by patrol shortly after. She is to appear in court June 6.

Keitha A. Cesario, 21, of Madison Street, Oneida was arrested May 27 on a Bench Warrant  for allegedly failing to report to Oneida City Court and failing to complete community service hours on a Disorderly Conduct charge. He is to appear in court at a later date.

Oneida City Police responded to a one-car, rollover accident on W. Elm Street at about 9:37 a.m. on May 27. A vehicle, 98 Chevrolet Suburban, was being operated east on W. Elm Street by Ronald S. Campbell Jr., 20, of Glenwood Avenue, Oneida. The vehicle went off the paved portion of the road after rounding a curve just east of Hubbard Place and the driver lost control of the vehicle, the vehicle returned to the road, overturned and exited the south side of the road overturning again and coming to rest on the driver’s side of the vehicle.

Campbell received injuries to his left arm and hand and was taken to Upstate Hospital. His passenger, Kelly M. Granger, 39, of E. Elm Street, Oneida had to be removed from the vehicle by the Oneida City Fire Department by removing the roof of the vehicle. She was transported by Vineall Ambulance to Upstate Hospital with a serious head injury.  Madison County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene and with traffic control. New York State Police assisted with accident reconstruction investigation. The road was closed for several hours while this was being completed. Investigation is continuing with charges pending.

Thor A Dickquist, 27, of E. Walnut Street, Oneida was charged May 23 with Trespass, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Open Container of Alcohol in Public. He is alleged to have entered onto property he was previously banned from. He was also issued a criminal summons for charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and second-degree Harassment. He is alleged to have thrown rocks at children and swung a skateboard at children. He is to appear June 3.

Sean R. Weed, 32, of Stone Street, Oneida was charged May 23 with Possession of Open Container of Alcohol in Public. He is to appear June 10.

Peter S. Zumpano, 21, of Route 28, Barneveld was charged May 25 with Petit Larceny. He is alleged to have stolen merchandise from Wal Mart. He is to appear June 13.

James L. Curtis, 43, of Madison Street, Oneida was issued an appearance ticket May 25 to appear in Oneida City Court June 6 to answer a charge of Possession of Open Container of Alcohol in Public.

Jeffrey T. Coonrod, 22, of Madison Street, Oneida was issued a criminal summons May 23 to appear in Oneida City Court May 29 to answer a charge of second-degree Harassment. He is alleged to have struck another person in the face and head with a closed fist.

  1. Stop trying to push the homeless and low income people out of Madison county NY a few of us heard these words from an officer and a park and rec people. Help the less fortunate in a lot of cases it’s not the homeless people failure they are in the position they are in. Rent way to high other bills way to high. Let’s set up abandon buildings for them. Heck a lot like me even donate a lot of time cleaning up the streets parks we help others.
