Hamilton Public Library news

(Hamilton, NY – July 2014) If you haven’t been able to participate in our Geek the Library campaign personally or on behalf of your business or organization, don’t worry–you can still join in the fun! Just call the library and ask to make arrangements with Director Hilary Virgil or our Summer Intern Belinda Taylor. In the meantime, stop by the library to see the fresh displays we continue to rotate through featuring community members and their interests. And be on the lookout for the posters and pictures as they pop-up around town.

In celebration of our last story time of the summer, toddlers, preschoolers, and their caregivers are invited to come enjoy nursery rhymes, special activities, and treats to go with them at our Mother Goose Tea party on Tuesday, July 29 at 10:30am. Mother Goose herself will be here to share a pot of tea, and each child will leave with his or her own booklet of nursery rhymes.

Looking for more summer fun for the whole family? Join us on Tuesday, July 29 from 5-6pm to celebrate the end of our summer reading program and enjoy the “fun and amazing antics” of Dave and Kyle Fultz’s Gravitational Bull Comedy Juggling Show! Weather permitting, the show will be on the lawn behind the Village office and you’re welcome to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. In case of rain, space for the performance will be limited in the Community Room at the Library. So keep an eye on the sky and get here early to get a good seat, rain or shine, as we’d love to have you join us for this special event.

Hilary Virgil is director of the Hamilton Public Library. The library is usually open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please call the library at (315) 824-3060, during these hours for assistance. The book drop on Broad Street is always open for your convenience.
