St. Pat’s Select Choir under the direction of Amanda Yeoman will be performing at this year’s Madison County Historical Society’s Christmas Open House.
(Oneida, NY – Dec. 2014) The Madison County Historical Society will hold its Victorian Christmas Open House Dec. 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Cottage Lawn, headquarters of the society, on 435 Main St., Oneida. This event is free and open to the public.
The period rooms will be festively decorated by Oneida area florist-Balloons and Blossoms and area garden clubs -Green Thumb Garden Club and Sherrill Garden Club.
Entertainment throughout the afternoon will be provided by the St. Pat’s Select Choir under the direction of Amanda Yeoman who will perform from 1 to1:30 p.m.
Kevin Bailey will return to perform holiday favorites from 1:35 to 2:05 p.m.
Durhamville Elementary School 2nd Grade Chorus under the direction of Stephanie Gwilt will perform from 2:10- to 2:30 p.m.
Build a Christmas tree with cookies with professional chef, Marlene Parlow, owner of Cakes and Other Goodies of Oneida. She will demonstrate and discuss how to pull this sweet edible centerpiece together from 3:05 to 3:20 p.m.
Suzuki Violin Studio of Oneida and Hamilton under the direction of Iryna Juravich will be returning to close the afternoon with their performance from 3:20 to 3:50 p.m.
Come visit the society’s latest temporary exhibit, “Medicine over the years” that highlights the period of 1800- 1950s and Madison County medical professionals, hospitals and medical services during the open house. The Peterboro Area Museum, Town of Madison Historical Society and Jill Stratton have loaned a variety of objects and images from their own collections for the exhibition.
Check out the gift shop for that special holiday gift and to purchase raffle tickets for gift baskets, the super 50/50 raffle and to win a handcrafted Windsor style chair. All drawings will be held at the end of the event.
The event is free and open to the public.
Holiday refreshments will be served.
