Caz library(Cazenovia, NY – March 2015) Jenna Wright is calling children of all ages and their families to the Cazenovia Public Library as it gears up for another fun and exciting break week. There are a variety of activities for all ages, giving children a chance to dive into interesting new topics and activities.

“Celebrate Reading” Monday, April 6 at 2 p.m.

Children, young and old, will delight in a concert filled with songs from some of the most popular children’s books of all time. Join Jim McCarthy in the Library Community Room for a sing-along, clap-along family concert that celebrates all the joys of reading. It will be a fun musical experience for the whole family.

“Museum Academy” Tuesday, April 7 from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

In partnership with Lorenzo State Historic Site, children ages 8 to 12 will have the opportunity to learn about shipbuilding and Lorenzo’s connection to famous ships.

Registration for this second installment of “Museum Academy” is required and includes a $2 registration fee per child.

 “Candy Land” Wednesday, April 8 from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

The Library Community Room will be transformed into a sugary-sweet life-sized Candy Land game board.  Children of all ages and their families should come on in and take part in this sweet game.

“Art Explorers” Thursday, April 9 from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

Children ages 8 to 12 are invited to the Library Community Room for the art of quilting.  Students will tour the historic quilt exhibit in the Library Art Gallery and create their own personal quilt square to add to a mural for the Library’s children’s space.

To ensure enough materials, this program requires registration. Call the Library at 655-9322 to reserve a spot.

Cinderella (1950) Friday, April 10 at 1:30 p.m.

Come and share in the magic of the timeless fairy tale Cinderella (1950). This Disney Animated Classic will be shown in the Library Community Room and is sure to delight family members of all ages.  It’s rated G and runs for 75 minutes.  Free popcorn.

 “Around the World with Cinderella” Saturday, April 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Young princes and princesses of all ages and their families are cordially invited to go “Around the World with Cinderella” at a fairy tale celebration.  Feel free to dress as your favorite prince or princess and come to the Library Community Room for a scavenger hunt and other activities, games, prizes, and refreshments.  You will meet Cinderella and her Prince, and you just might see mice turn into ponies.  Co-sponsored by the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society of Cazenovia College.
