(Oneida, NY- April 2015) Registration is now open for a free five-session Spring Watercolor Workshop for adults led by Carol Cotten at Oneida Public Library on Wednesdays April 22 to May 20 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Last spring for the OPL Cotten taught an art course called the Sketchbook, in which participants gathered in local scenic spots to sketch directly from observation. This spring she will focus on sketching and painting with watercolors sample still lifes as observed in the library’s Meeting Room. Participants should have some previous experience in the medium.
Cotten, who retired from teaching art in the Camden Central School District in 2004, has been conducting art workshops for children and adults in the area ever since. She has exhibited her own art, especially her watercolors, at many small regional galleries and libraries, including the OPL.
Since the class is limited to 20 people, those interested in the Spring Watercolor Workshop must register at the OPL check-out desk by April 17. After signing up, students will receive a list of art supplies that they need to bring to the workshop.
