(Hamilton, NY – April 2015) With a little help from our friends…
The Friends of the Library support the library through volunteering and funding special projects and services that are not possible as part of the regular operating expenses provided through public funding. This past year we were able to upgrade the technology presentation equipment in the Community Room. This project was made possible through funding from the Friends of the Library with the proceeds raised at their annual Labor Day weekend book sale. The Friends of the Library also provide refreshments for library sponsored programs and events, provide copies of the Book Page book review free of charge for our patrons each month, and help with printing and mailing the annual Library newsletter—which will be in your mailbox soon.
Over the next few years, we hope to continue to work with the Friends and our teen advisory group to create a teen space in the front corner of the Library, opposite the public computers. Stay tuned for more details, and opportunities to take part in updating this important community space.
Members of the Friends of the Library are invited to attend their annual meeting on Wednesday, July 15 at 4pm in the Community Room at the Hamilton Public Library. The Friends of the Library are currently seeking new board members to begin serving as of July 1. If you are interested in being considered for this role, please contact Library Director Hilary Virgil at 824-3060 by Friday, May 8.

The library is normally open Monday-Friday, 10am to 7pm, and Saturday, 10am to 1pm. Please visit or call the library (315) 824-3060 during these hours for assistance. The book drop at the front of the building is always available for your convenience.
