Library books(Madison County, NY – May 2015) Mid York Library System announced that on May 1 it launched a new database: Transparent Language Online.

In partnership with RBdigital from Recorded Books, patrons of Mid York will have unlimited access to more than 90 online language courses with their public library cards. The courses are packed with pronunciation, speech, grammar, writing and vocabulary-building lessons. Library users have the ability to write or speak their answers, practice pronunciation by slowing down the on-screen examples, and converse with native speakers through interactive videos. You can learn on your own time, at your own pace in the library, in the comfort of your home, or on the go with the Transparent Language app for the iPhone and Android.

MidYork serves Oneida, Madison, and Herkimer County.

For more information on how to access this service, please see a library staff member at your local library or go to www.midyork.org.
