Judge Patrick O'Sullivan

O'Sullivan (Canastota, NY – May 2015) Judge Patrick O’Sullivan received the endorsement of the Madison County Republican Committee for County Judge. Four Republican candidates had vied for the nomination via a vote of the full Republican Committee.

“I’m honored and humbled the Madison County Republican Committee voted to endorse my candidacy for County Judge, after looking very closely at my background and experience,” said O’Sullivan. “Every day I’m privileged to serve the people of our community as a municipal Judge, trial attorney and mentor to our next generation of legal professionals. This community has given me so much; I look forward to continuing to give back as your next County Judge.”

O’Sullivan has been town judge in Nelson for 10 years, and village judge in Cazenovia for the past four years. For 22 years he has served as a trial attorney, litigating civil and criminal matters across all of Upstate New York. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Syracuse University College of Law and Adjunct Professor in the Criminal Justice Department at Morrisville State College.

“As a Committee, we believe the future of our community and the future of the Madison GOP are only as strong as the candidates we elect,” said County Republican Chairman Todd Rouse. “That’s exactly why we endorsed Judge Patrick O’Sullivan for County Court; he has excellent qualifications, experience, and a passion for public service. He will make a tremendous County Judge and serve our community well.”

“The Madison County Court serves our citizens during the most turbulent times in their lives,” O’Sullivan said. “It’s vital that they come before a fair judge who is compassionate, objective and experienced in all aspects of the law.”

The Madison County Republican Committee met at the Rusty Rail in Canastota for its annual Endorsement Dinner. Many Committee Members remarked that attendance at the Endorsement Dinner was higher than it has been in many years.

O’Sullivan prevailed in the vote over Scott Bielecki, Kathleen Rapasadi and Michael Misiaszek.

Patrick O’Sullivan is a graduate of the Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School (Juris Doctor), Iona College (Master of Science) and Daemen College (Bachelor of Science).

He and his wife, Susan, live in Nelson with their three children, Jacqueline, Hannah and Jake. He will appear on this November’s ballot as a Republican for Madison County Judge.
