(Morrisville, NY – June 2015) LIBRARY CLOSURES:  The library is closed every Saturday from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.  So we will be closed Saturday July 4, 11, 18, and 25.

Essential Oil Class: Join Robin Suarez, on Thursday July 2 at 6:30pm, as she helps us to better our lives naturally.  Essential oils are natural aromatic compounds found in flowers, seeds, bark, roots and other parts of plants. They are powerfully fragrant. They have been used throughout history for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits.

Summer Reading Begins:  Summer reading officially begins on Monday July 6.  Stop in and sign up.  We have a children’s program for ages 1-17 and an adult program as well.

Moreland the Magician:  “There’s a HERO at your LIBRARY.” show starring Moreland the Magician will be on Wednesday July 8 at 6:30pm.  He will celebrate the fun of reading and visiting the library all summer long with magic and more.  Sure to be a goofy, wildly-entertaining show for the whole family.

Hero Film Series #1-Apollo 13:  Join us on Thursday July 9 at 2:00pm as we watch some great heroes on the big screen.  We will be showing, Apollo 13.  Come see Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Gary Sinise and Ed Harris in this riveting suspense thriller.  Popcorn will be provided; just bring your own drink.

Murder Mystery Sign Ups:  We are doing a murder mystery play this summer and we need you to come on Friday July 10 at 6:30pm to sign up for a part, agree to help with the set, be a stagehand etc.  All interested kids (who can read well) and adults need to come tonight.  Be sure to see our event in August, “The Murder at Morrisville Manor”.  More details to follow soon about that.

Annual Book Sale:  Join us on Saturday July 11 from 8am to 2pm for our annual book sale.  Lots of great deals.  Get some great reads for the summer.  The Book Sale will be held in the Library’s program room.  The library itself will be closed to the public (due to summer hours).

Clearance Book Sale: Join us on Monday July 13 from 12-6:30pm as we try and sell the remainder from our book sale.  Whatever you can get in a bag for a $1.  We will provide the bags.  And SPECIAL: for nonprofits and teachers only- Everything is free if you bring your work ID or talk to the Library Manager.

SRP Mural:  What’s summer reading without doing some freehand drawing?  Join us on Wednesday July 15 at 6:30pm as we create our annual summer reading mural.  This year it is “Every Hero has a Story.”  All supplies are provided; we just need young and old talent to come and create.

Board of Trustees meeting:  The Morrisville Public Library Board of Trustees will meet on Thursday July 16 at 6:30pm.  The public is welcome to attend.

Hero Inside Me:  Did you know that you are a hero too?  Come join us on Friday July 17 at 6:30pm and come learn how we are all heroes in some way.  Lots of fun to be had too.

Jester Jim: With nothing more than a trunk full of props, Jester Jim will have you cracking up in your seats on Wednesday July 22 at 6:30pm.  Juggling, balancing and beatboxing, this show is packed full of entertainment.  “I have never laughed as hard as I did watching Jester Jim,” said Michelle Rounds, Library Manager.

Hero Film Series #2-Meteor Man:  Join us on Thursday July 23 at 2:00pm as we watch some great heroes on the big screen.  We will be showing, the 1993 movie, Meteor Man.  Move over Superman.  A mild-mannered substitute teacher has been given some superhuman abilities.  Popcorn will be provided; just bring your own drink.

Superheroes, Villains and Sidekicks:  Come have fun with us as we focus on superheroes, villains and sidekicks on Friday July 24 at 6:30pm.  Play some heroic games, see if you can spot the superheroes, villains and sidekicks and LOTS more.

Fire Department Field Trip:  Join us at the library on Wednesday July 29 at 6:30pm and we will walk over to the Morrisville Fire Department together.  Kids can have their pictures taken with the trucks, learn some fire safety, find out how to become a firefighter and more.  Come learn about some real heroes this summer.

Our Community of Heroes:  We have a great community filled with TONS of heroes.  Let’s focus on some of them on Friday July 31 at 6:30pm.
