(Town of Lenox, NY – July 2015) Connect with nature this month by participating in the scheduled programs presented at the Great Swamp Conservancy, 8375 N. Main St., Canastota.
July 11 (Saturday) 8:30- 10 p.m., discover the” Sounds and Sights of Nature at Night.”
See what is happening in the woods and wetlands while humans are getting ready to sleep. Take a guided walk and learn about fireflies, search for bats, call for owls and more. After a brief presentation indoors head out on the trails with naturalist and educator, Julie Fishman. Wear sturdy shoes, bring insect repellant and a flashlight if desired; most of t he walk will be in darkness.
July 18 (Saturday) at 1 p.m. Dragonflies will be the featured program.
Presented by Meenan Harbo, distinguished author and dragonfly specialist will be conducting a guided field walk to identify local dragonflies and damselflies. Be sure to bring your cameras, we got fabulous photos last year.
The fee for each event is a $3 donation.
