Local author to read bilingual children’s book
(Hamilton, NY – July 2015) Join the Colgate Bookstore as local author Alicia Klepeis reads her latest book, “Francisco’s Kites” on Aug. 1 at 2pm.
In this charming bilingual picture book for children ages 4 to 8, a young boy uses his ingenuity to build unique kites that will have young readers dreaming of building their own fabulous fliers! The story will be read in English and in Spanish. Kite crafts and a special themed snack to follow.
Alicia Z. Klepeis is a freelance writer who began her career at the National Geographic Society. A former geography teacher, she lives with her family in upstate New York.

Colgate Bookstore hosts Hamilton Public Library Day
(Hamilton, NY – July 2015) The Colgate Bookstore is celebrating their partnership with the Hamilton Public Library Aug. 3 by hosting a Hamilton Public Library Day. Join the Bookstore at 10:30am as library director Hilary Virgil will host story.
There will be games, party favors, cotton candy, and a special visitor. Come pet a goat from Heritage Farm. Children of all ages are welcome.
Grown-ups can enter to win a special, one-time only raffle. The prize will be unique book items. Need not be present to win.
Remember, 13 percent of all children and adult trade book sales from this – and all in-store book events – will be donated to the Hamilton Public Library.Through this local business-public service collaboration, Colgate Bookstore hopes to raise awareness of the importance and joy of reading while supporting both community cornerstones.
