This Friday July 31 we will be celebrating “Our Community of Heroes” at 6:30pm.  We have a great community filled with TONS of heroes.  Let’s focus on some of them and have a grand ole time.

Be sure to join us on Wednesday Aug. 5 at 6:30pm for Out of the Cage Pet Mobile.  Join Jennifer Clark as she brings her traveling exotic petting zoo to our library.  She will be bringing 6 different animals to learn about as well as see and touch.

On Thursday Aug. 6 at 2:00pm we will be showing our last movie in our Heroes Film Series. The 1962 classic movie, To Kill a Mockingbird is what we are showing.  Refresh yourself and be sure to get a copy of the book, available now and read it before we show the movie. Popcorn will be provided; just bring your own drink.  And exciting news….originally written in the mid-1950s, Go Set a Watchman was the novel Harper Lee first submitted to her publishers before To Kill a Mockingbird. Assumed to have been lost, the manuscript was discovered in late 2014.  Go Set a Watchman features many of the characters from To Kill a Mockingbird some twenty years later.  Be sure to read it too.

On Thursday Aug. 6 we will be having another Essential Oils Class at 6:30pm. Join Robin Suarez as she helps us to better our lives naturally.  Essential oils are natural aromatic compounds found in flowers, seeds, bark, roots and other parts of plants. They are powerfully fragrant. They have been used throughout history for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits.

On Friday Aug. 7 at 6:30pm we will be having fun with Tall Tale Heroes and Animals.  We have to have fun with heroes from books as well as our heroic animals.  It wouldn’t be a summer reading program about heroes if we didn’t.  Come have fun with some tall tale and animal heroes.

Be sure to join us on Wednesday Aug. 12 at 6:30pm for our Gross Out Game Night.  Can you be the hero of the library and make it through the entire Gross Out Game Night and play every game?  Lots of yucky and gross games to play and laugh about.  (Please note: you only have to play the games you want to.)

On Friday Aug. 14 we will be presenting “The Murder at Morrisville Manor” at 6:30pm.   Come see what we have worked on all summer.  Find out who committed the murder and who the hero is.  Open to all patrons; young and old.

Summer Reading Ends on Friday Aug. 14 at 8:00pm.  Be sure to get your reading records in and make sure you have read at least ten hours.  IF THE CHILDREN READ 1100 HOURS COLLECTIVELY through the course of the program, THEY CAN TURN THE LIBRARY MANAGER INTO AN ICE CREAM SUNDAE at graduation…..

Library closures:  The library is closed every Saturday from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.  So we will be closed Saturday Aug. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29.

Family Movie Night: We will be showing the movie, Home (rated PG) on Friday Aug. 28 at 7:00pm.  Popcorn as always will be provided; you bring your own beverage.  ***PLEASE NOTE**** NEW TIME.  All movies (family, teen or adult) will now ALL start at 7pm.
