Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Volunteer tech advisors will be on hand to help users set up and adapt their devices, from iPads and tablets to smart phones and laptops. No appointment is needed.

Science for Super Heroes
Wednesday at 2 p.m.
Prof. Jen Herzog leads K-6th grade students in hands-on experiments to reveal the science behind the so-called super-powers of comic book heroes. Class limited to 20. Registration required.

Friends of Oneida Library Meeting
Wednesday at 6 p.m.
The Friends of the Oneida Public Library will hold a general meeting in the OPL’s Meeting Room.

OPL Children’s Theater: “Dare and Double Dare”
Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
The young actors of the OPL Children’s Summer Theater program will perform an original one-act play about bullying called “Dare and Double Dare” in the auditorium of the Oneida First Presbyterian Church, 304 Broad St., at 7:00 p.m.Admission is free.

The Little Red Wagon
Friday at 10 a.m.
In the summer reading program just for pre-schoolers, the Little Red Wagon, educator Elaine Clark will provide stories, activities and learning opportunities to develop pre-reading skills. No registration is required.

Science Rides a Roller Coaster
Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
Youth Librarian Michele Ryan provides the kits and the guidance to three teams of 9- to 12-year olds in researching, building and testing table-top roller coasters. With a limited class, registration is required.

Book Talk with Resurreccion Dimaculangan
Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
In connection with the release of her book, “Spirited Deed Revelations,” Ms. Dimaculangan, owner of the Spirit House in Georgetown, will present “Cooperation, Collaboration, Competition, Cash with Care,” a forum on historic preservation.

Nine to 12-year old children will create the story, design the costume and draw an original super hero or villain for a comic-book cover. Youth Librarian Michele Ryan leads the class.

The First Lego League

Ralph Kohler and Tandy Paugh from Griffiss Air Force Lab guide a group of 14 children in building programmable robots out of Legos. The group meets Aug. 17-21at the OPL from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required.

Friends of the Oneida Public Library will be offering in the library’s Meeting Room good summertime reading at bargain prizes to benefit the OPL.

AARP Drivers’ Safety Class
Monday and Tuesday at 10 a.m.
For potential discounts in car insurance premiums, a trained AARP instructor leads a class for seniors in driving skills. To register, contact Bob Fish at 363-0455.
