(Hamilton, NY – July 2015) Colgate head coach Nicci Hays Fort has named Anna Patritto to her women’s basketball coaching staff.

Patritto comes to the Raiders after two assistant coaching seasons on the staff at Indiana/Purdue-Fort Wayne out of the Summit League. Before that, she spent two campaigns as the graduate assistant coach at Michigan State of the Big Ten Conference.

The combined record of her teams in those four years was 69-57, including a pair of 20-win seasons and two NCAA tournament appearances at Michigan State. Patritto and the IPFW staff coached the Mastadons into the Women’s NIT in 2014 after a solid 8-6 conference mark.

“We are extremely happy that Anna has been able to join our coaching staff,” Hays Fort said. “She a good fit for us, bringing experience both as an NCAA Division I student-athlete and as a coach.

“Anna is a key part of our program and we are looking forward to her assisting in the development of our student-athletes.”

Patritto arrives at Colgate having handled all aspects of on-court coaching and also recruiting at IPFW. She coordinated film, scouting and travel at both of her previous coaching stops.

“I am very grateful for this opportunity to work for Colgate University and head coach Nicci Hays Fort,” Patritto said. “Colgate has a tremendous reputation as a great academic institution, and I am excited to work with our student-athletes. Hamilton is a great place and Colgate embodies everything that a university should be.

“Coach Hays has a great reputation in the basketball community, and I am lucky to be working for someone of her caliber. I thank Coach Hays and Colgate University for this amazing opportunity.”

Patritto played collegiately at Oakland in her home state of Michigan, appearing in 123 career games over her four-year career. The 2010-11 team captain was part of a senior class that amassed 83 wins, most of any Oakland team in its Division I era.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration at Oakland, and a master’s in sports administration at Michigan State.

Patritto resides in Hamilton with her husband, Justin, and their dog, Cooper.
