(Oneida, Wampsville, NY- Sept. 2015) With school starting Tuesday Sept. 8 motorists are reminded to watch for stopped school busses picking up and dropping off students.
It is illegal to pass a stopped school bus from either direction while the bus is displaying a red visual signal (flashing lights/ stop sign). This includes divided highways and school driveways. Motorist should allow additional time in their commute to work due to added traffic and bus stops.
Crossing Guards will be in place from 8 to 9 a.m. and 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. on school days at the following locations; N. Main Street by N. Broad St. School, N. Broad Street at Allen, Seneca Street by the Seneca Street School, Broad at Walnut, Main at Walnut, Elizabeth at Walnut and East Avenue at Elizabeth Street.
Restricted parking for weekend events. The Madison County Historical Society Craft Days are taking place Sept. 12 and 13. Elizabeth Street will be limited to one side parking between Walnut and the south end at Main Street. Grove Street between Main and Elizabeth will be closed except for local traffic.
The car show in Wampsville is taking place Sept. 13. West Elm Street at the west city line will be restricted to one side parking. These restrictions are to allow for emergency vehicle access.
