CNY Community Foundation has provided funding for CAP projects including the construction of our Canastota office, the Mary Rose free medical clinic and various grants through their Women’s Fund specific mini-grants for women’s needs (self-esteem, homeless housing residents, Moms and Grandparents groups).
Mid York Foundation has been a supporter of CAP helping with our Early Headstart program, mentoring and needs for the families we work with.
Hinman Foundation has assisted CAP with construction of our Early Head Start facility, our Canastota office project, home visiting programs, professional development and technology needs. .
All proceeds from the benefit will allow CAP to serve low-income individuals, families, and the community.
A silent auction filled with unique items and fun experiences donated by area merchants and businesses will round out the evening.
Local wine from Owera Vineyards, beer from Empire Brewery, and cider from Critz Farms will be featured along with appetizers provided by Owera. The harvesting of the grapes is scheduled to begin at this time, adding to the atmosphere of the evening.
Development Director Diane Ryan says, “We are looking to enjoy our public supporters and honor some of our great community foundations. This is a pleasant opportunity to raise money for our programs, to alleviate our dependency on federal and state funding. The need in our community is as great as ever. Unfortunately, our program funding is decreasing and through a special event like this we hope to raise community support and awareness.”
CAP has been in Madison Country since 1983, serving the diverse needs of low-income families and individuals, encompassing housing, food, employment, transportation – all cornerstones to the stability of family and the community. Last year CAP touched the lives of 23% of the residents in Madison County.
