To the Editor:
(Madison County, NY – Oct. 2015) This is a letter of endorsement for Kathleen Rapasadi for County Court Judge and why we endorse her. We view this as a non-partisan race where all the candidates are qualified and none has any judicial experience in Courts where the judge has to be a lawyer. We interviewed all the candidates and they all possess appropriate dispositions to be a good judge.
Kathleen has the best and most rounded background to preside over the 3 courts our Judges officiate. She has been a family law attorney for 23 years, 17 years as a part time Asst. District Attorney under DA’s of both major parties and she has experience in Surrogate’s Court. She also set herself apart as the only candidate that had a concrete solution to our question about what could be done to fix the terrible backlog in Family Court. She said she would work six days a week until the backlog was under control. She also was the only candidate that made it clear that people who are not disqualified by law should be able to get carrying pistol permits to protect themselves.
Kathleen has shown her care and commitment for the families of Madison County, not only as a hard worker for them, but she has been a vocal public critic of the unfair draining of our Court resources to other Counties by our Administrative Judge long before this position became available. For all of these reasons, we feel she is the best choice for Madison County Court Judge.
