letters-to-the-editor.image_To the Editor,

(Madison County, NY – Oct. 2015) I am pleased to be expressing my opinion regarding my friend and colleague, Marian Cerio, and her qualifications for the position of Madison County Court Judge.

Marian has been working successfully as an attorney in Madison County in the areas of Family, Criminal, and Surrogates Law for over 20 years. These are exactly the areas of the law over which the Madison County judge presides. Marian has shown herself to be an excellent advocate.  As I too have worked in these areas, I know that dealing with these types of emotionally charged issues can be difficult, but Marian has always acted with poise and confidence. These traits combine to create an individual who is pragmatic, professional, and successful.

Beyond Marian’s professional roles, she has been involved with various community issues over the years through volunteer positions. Currently she is serving on the Canastota School Board as President.

It is also important to point out that Marian’s qualifications include raising two wonderful, successful children while maintaining her professional and volunteer positions.  Her family has always been a priority; their closeness is a testament to Marian’s strong family ethic.

Because of these strong qualifications, along with the fact that a woman has never held the role of Madison County Court Judge, Marian Cerio is an exemplary candidate deserving of your vote.
