(Oneida, NY – Nov. 2015) In preparation for its annual Holiday Book Sale, to be held Dec. 4 and 5 this year, Friends of the Oneida Public Library will be accepting book donations at the library, 220 Broad St. in Oneida, from Monday, Nov. 9 through Tuesday, Dec. 1 during regular library operating hours.
The Friends will only accept fiction books, nonfiction books not more than five years old, CDs and DVDs as well as complete board games and puzzles. These materials may be for adults, teenagers or children.
Materials should be in “good to excellent” condition, according to the Friends’ guidelines. Unacceptable are musty, dirty, moldy or water-damaged items; magazines; encyclopedias or dictionaries, textbooks or business/industry manuals; VHS cassette tapes; and time-sensitive and outdated books like travel guides, computer manuals and medical texts.
The best of the donations, including bestsellers, will be available for purchase at bargain prices during the Friends’ Holiday Book Sale on Friday, Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the library’s Meeting Room.
All proceeds will benefit the OPL.
