(Oneida, NY – Nov. 17, 2015) Michael F. Albanese, 33, of Phelps St. Oneida was issued a criminal summons Nov. 13 on a charge of Petit Larceny. He is alleged to have stolen merchandise from Red Apple.

Olivaro B. Maes, 36, no address available was arrested Nov. 16 on charges of second-degree Menacing and fourth-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon. During a disturbance he is alleged to have brandished a box cutter at a 16 year old placing the victim in fear of injury.  Maes was arraigned and committed to Madison County Jail in lieu of bail set at $2,000 to appear Nov. 20.

Oneida City Police executed a search warrant at 148 Madison St. in Oneida at about 10:50 a.m. Nov. 16.  The search warrant was the result of an investigation that was started after receiving complaints from citizens of illegal drug activity at the Madison Street property that is posted with a sign above the front windows ‘Universal Life Church of Awakening Consciousness’ ‘Place of Peace.’

Arrested was Joseph R. Hazard, 54 of, Madison St., Oneida on two counts of fourth-degree Criminal Sale of Marijuana and one count of fifth-degree Criminal Possession of Marijuana. Police seized marijuana, cash, scales, drug paraphernalia and several cell phones.

Hazard was arraigned and committed to Madison County Jail in lieu of bail set at $2,500 to appear Nov. 20. New York State Police K-9 assisted with the search.

Following the search the building was ordered to be vacated for codes violations.
