(Oneida, NY – Dec. 2015) The Oneida Public Library First Lego League has invited Lego League teams in the area to the library on Wednesday Dec. 30 from 1 to 4 p.m. for a practice scrimmage for their robotics projects that will be presented in the League’s Regional Tournament in January.
The First Lego teams this year are putting their technical savvy to the test by competing for the best robotics project, complete with supporting research, for solving a problem related to the world’s trash crisis. The teenaged competitors at the OPL scrimmage will be presenting their individual projects in a show and tell and testing out their electronically controlled robots.
The First Lego League is a national program for middle-school and high-school students that is sponsored by the U.S. Air Force in collaboration with local sponsors like the OPL. Oneida’s team of more than a dozen young people is mentored by Ralph Kohler and Tandy Paugh from the U.S. Air Force Laboratory in Rome.
The scrimmage is open to the public.
