(Canastota, NY – Jan. 2016) The Canastota Public Library will show the film, “To Kill A Mockingbird” on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 6 p.m. in the Lawson Community Room. The movie, shown free of charge, will be shown this month as a part of the CNY Reads One Book program.
“To Kill a Mockingbird” is a 1962 American drama film based on Harper Lee’s 1960 Pulitzer Prize winning novel of the same name. It was directed by Robert Mulligan. The film was considered to be one of the best films ever made and earned many positive responses from film critics. A box office success, the film won three Academy Awards including Best Actor for Gregory Peck who starred as Atticus Finch. Scout was played by Mary Badham. “To Kill a Mockingbird” will run just over two hours.
“To Kill a Mockingbird” is this year’s book pick for all of CNY to read. There is a flurry of activity planned throughout the region surrounding some of the current themes of this classic novel from January through March of 2016.
