Ever wanted to get inside the head of a favorite animal? Interested in learning about what makes them tick? Make no bones about it, Rogers Center in Sherburne has the perfect opportunity to discover more about the anatomy of mammals that live right in your backyard.
Join Friends of Rogers on March 5 for the Family Fun program “Skull Science.” By viewing the skulls of animals, participants will learn to identify unique characteristics that might otherwise go unnoticed. Once visitors discover these characteristics, they will better understand certain behaviors, as well as how to interact with these animals.
“We can take a lot away from examining the skulls of different vertebrates up close and personal,” said Environmental Educator Sarah Freedman. “It’s fun trying to figure out what animal each skull belongs to as it can be rather challenging to identify the correct critter sometimes.”
Family Fun programs are held at 10:30 a.m. on the first and third Saturday of every month in the Visitor’s Center on state Route 80 and last approximately one hour. While there is no charge, Friends of Rogers encourages contributions to support future programs. Recent events have included Bird BINGO, Family Snowshoe and For the Birds.Family Fun programs are an opportunity for visitors of all ages to experience
