Enjoy family fun at the Easter Egg-stravaganza, Saturday, March 19th, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Town of Sullivan Parks and Recreation Department, 707 Legion Drive, Chittenango. The event includes free egg hunts, great shopping, free activities for kids and the opportunity to support local scholarships.
The Sullivan Community Council will offer free Easter Egg Hunts for kids ages eight years and under at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Everyone must pre-register for a time slot. Hunts are rain or shine. Pre-register with the Town of Sullivan Parks and Recreation Department online at https://sullivan.recdesk.com or call 687-3471. Registration deadline is Thursday, March 17th or until full. There is a maximum of 200 per time slot. Boys and girls will hunt for eggs in age groups. Toddlers may be helped by an adult. All participants will receive a small prize.
Dollars for Scholars will be holding basket raffles and selling refreshments during the event to raise money for college scholarships for the Class of 2016 and beyond. There will be plenty of great local vendors for your Easter shopping needs while the kids enjoy free games and face painting. The Easter Bunny will be there for pictures and visiting time.
“This is a great way for us to partner with the Sullivan Community Council to offer a fun family friendly activity and bring attention to the awesome support the community has provided for local scholarships,” said Tina Louis, Public Relations and Promotion for the Chittenango-Bridgeport Dollars for Scholars Committee. Dollars for Scholars is fully funded by donations and contributions from residents and business owners within the Chittenango School District. “Our local chapter of Dollars for Scholars gave out $5,250 to 12 high school seniors in May of 2015. We hope to give out even more in 2016. The community’s continuous generosity and the smiles on awards night are what keep the committee going strong.”
