Suffragette:  Friday, March 4th at 1:00 and 7:00 pm in the Community Room.  Rated PG-13; 106 minutes

Inspired by true events in early-20th-century Britain, this powerful drama tracks the story of women who were forced underground to pursue a dangerous game of cat and mouse with an increasingly brutal State.             Cazenovia College’s Great Minds/Great Ideas Library Lecture Series: Tuesday, March 8th at 7:00 pm in the Community Room.

Allyn Stewart, Professor of Visual Communications, will present “Will Eisner and his Influence on Contemporary Graphic Novels.The presentation will focus on Eisner’s growth and development as an artist, editor, and educator as well as his influence on contemporary graphic storytelling.                                            This lecture series is made possible through the generous support of Pat Stacy Healey, class of 1962, and Helen Stacy.

Art for Kids: A Visit with Van Gogh—Friday March 11th from 1:30-3:00 pm in the Community Room

Pat Hill and Jenna Wright-Martin are calling kids ages 8-14 to this year’s final installment of “Art for Kids.”  Participants will enjoy an afternoon in the company of Vincent Van Gogh, one of the most celebrated artists of the twentieth century.  They will create their own work of art in the style of Van Gogh’s Wheat Field with Cypresses, a painting that he considered to be his best summer landscape.                                                                                                                     Following the program, a raffle will be held with the lucky winner receiving a beautiful 178-piece art collection.                                                                                                                         To ensure program quality, class size is limited.  Stop by or call the library at 655- 9322 to reserve a spot

Pixar Animation Studios takes viewers on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend.  Free  popcorn

           Lego My Library—Monday, March 14th at 3:30 pm in the Community Room

Using the Library’s collection of LEGO and Duplo blocks, children ages 3 and older and their families will have the opportunity to build and create something spectacular.

Open Afternoon Book Club—Wednesday, March 16th at 1:00 pm in the Story Garden

           Coloring, Cookies, and Conversation—Thursday, March 17th at 6:30 pm in the Community Room

Adults are invited to pick up a coloring book and color—while munching on cookies and visiting with friends and neighbors.  It’s an accessible and inexpensive creative outlet that lets you relax, switch off, and focus on something very calming.       Cookies and conversation as well as all supplies are provided.
