CCE HerkimerCornell Cooperative Extension of Herkimer County will sponsor two workshops for landowners entitled “Land Owners’ Rights and Responsibilities in New York” to be held Thursday, March 24, at the CCE Office in East Herkimer and repeated Thursday, April 21, at the Tally-Ho Restaurant in Richfield Springs, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. both days.

Attorney Lorraine Lewandrowski of Herkimer will speak on common issues that rural landowners encounter. Topics will include how adverse possession works, trespass on rural lands, boundary disputes, land title issues, landowner responsibilities, recreational land use and taxation on land. Her presentation will be oriented towards practical discussion of landowner concerns.

Preregistration is required. Workshop fee is $10 per person; space is limited.  Stop in or mail your fee to CCE of Herkimer County, 5657 State Route 5, Herkimer, N.Y. 13350.  Deadline for Herkimer location is March 22; .  Richfield Springs location deadline is April 19.
