(Lenox) Madison County Sheriff’s Narcotics Investigators have arrested Patrick K. Sobel, 51, of Wilson Cove Road, Lenox, after it was discovered that an active methamphetamine lab was being operated by Sobel in his residence there. The lab was shut down after an operation late Tuesday evening.
Sobel was charged with unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, a class D felony, unlawful disposal of methamphetamine lab material, a class E felony) and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor.
Sobel was arraigned in Lenox Town Court and remanded to the Madison County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond; he is scheduled to return to Lenox Town Court March 14.
Due to the health hazard caused, the residence was declared unfit for occupancy by the town of Lenox code officer. Sheriff’s Office investigators, deputies and evidence technicians remained at the site until late Wednesday morning processing the scene.
