New Windsor – On March 9, at approximately 8:09 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 for a traffic violation.
The driver of the vehicle, Jean C. Vazquez Tamerez, 25, of Albany, was found to be in possession of more than 14 pounds of marijuana.
Vazquez Tamerezwas transported and processed at SP Newburgh where he was subsequently charged with first-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class C felony; he was arraigned before the Town of New Windsor Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
