Molloy MECS Profile PicThe Morrisville-Eaton Central School District Board of Education appointed Greg Molloy as its next superintendent of schools at its Board meeting March 21. Molloy was selected after an extensive review of candidates and their credentials. This process concluded with full-day visitations to the school by two finalists.

Molloy began his career in education 17 years ago as a mathematics teacher in the East Syracuse-Minoa and Sauquoit Valley school districts before moving into educational leadership. He currently serves as the principal of John C. Birdlebough High School in the Phoenix Central School District, a position he has held since 2007. He previously served as a house principal at Cicero-North Syracuse High School.

He is currently the chairperson of the Oswego County Principals group and he has completed the Superintendent Development Program at SUNY Oswego. Molloy holds a BA from LeMoyne College in secondary mathematics, an MBA from SUNY Oswego, and a school district administrator certificate from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in Educational Leadership.

“I’m excited to get the opportunity to come back home and work with the students and staff of Morrisville-Eaton,” Molloy said. “I love the size of the district. It’s the kind of place you can get to know everyone as individuals, not just as data points.”

Molloy and his wife, both graduates of Morrisville-Eaton High School, have three children, ages 9, 7 and 5 months.

The Board of Education believes Molloy will be an asset to the Morrisville-Eaton Central School District and the entire community.

“The Board was impressed with Mr. Molloy’s skills, education and experience and we believe he is the right person to lead the district through this challenging time in public education,” said Board President Nikki Doroshenko. “We are excited about the opportunity to work with Mr. Molloy and expand opportunities for the students of our district. We are pleased with the results of our search process and want to extend our appreciation to the school and community members who participated in our group interviews and public forums. Your feedback was an important factor in our decision.”
