7071180925-litter-clean-up-signTown residents are encouraged to participate in the third annual Lebanon Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 23, 9 am to 12 pm at the Town Office/Highway Garage at 1210 Bradley Brook Road in the hamlet.

Residents are eligible to bring two clear plastic garbage bags filled with roadside trash and/or two pieces of used furniture for free disposal as part of this event.  Citizens are encouraged to use this opportunity to clean up their roadside of any trash or debris, and to bring in any recyclables separately.

The Annual Cleanup Day is made possible due to the cooperation of the Madison County Solid Waste and Recycling department which provides the free dumpsters and transporting the garbage and recyclables, and grants each municipality up to 25 tons of disposal annually at no charge.

This cleanup day is for family residences and does not apply to businesses.

In addition, the following items will be collected by the Town at landfill prices to allow residents the convenience of utilizing the town office location rather than to have to transport items to the county landfill or transfer station.

The items and prices that will be accepted are as follows:

Tires (limit of 4 per family residence) $2.80 each

Propane tanks – $2.80 each

Air Conditioners – $5.60 each

Refrigerators – $5.60 each

Freezers – $5.60 each

Dehumidifiers – $5.60 each

Televisions – $2.80 each

Computer monitors – $2.80 each.

Check or cash will be accepted as the method of payment. No punch cards will be accepted.

Scrap metal should be kept separate from other items and there is no charge to recycle this material.

Other recyclables will also be accepted in plastic bags such as cereal boxes, pizza boxes, cardboard, etc.

The town participates in the ag plastic recycling program and this will allow farmers to bring ag plastic bundles to the town barn as well. The town is pursuing a plastics to oil and other ag plastic recycling initiatives.

The Madison County landfill will be making two dumpsters available for Lebanon Cleanup and Roadside trash day.

No hazardous material will be collected.

Local churches and other organization are encouraged to schedule events for that day to coincide with the Townwide cleanup effort
