State Police in Herkimer arrested Alan S. Crouse, 38, from Donato Road in Canajoharie, NY for Falsifying Business Records in the second degree, a class “A” misdemeanor.
Crouse was charged after an ATF referral determined that he had attempted to purchase a firearm at Herb Philipson’s in the Village of Herkimer. The defendant falsely completed federal firearms form ATF-4473 in order to hide the fact that he was prohibited from purchasing a firearm. The defendant was denied during a NICS check and did not take possession of the weapon.
Crouse was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Village of Herkimer court at a later date.
