Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison and Morrisville State College are pleased to offer, in conjunction with local and state partners, a day long program for sheep and goat producers in Central New York. Join us on Saturday, April 23rd from 9:00am-5:00pm at Morrisville State College’s Livestock Facility located on Eaton Street in Morrisville. Registration will begin at 8:30am. This program will include a rotation of sessions covering vaccinations and injections; record keeping and ear tagging; hoof health; and kidding/lambing. After lunch, at the Madison County Cornell Cooperative Extension Office, Corey Hayes, Professor of Agriculture Economics and Commodity Marketing at Morrisville State College and owner of Emerald-View Farms, will lead us in a tour of the facility and discussion on facility design and proper animal handling. Ben Crockett, Site Manager, Farm Business Incubator at Glynwood will also be joining us for the remainder of the afternoon during which he will discuss a variety of topics relating to pasture management and grazing planning. As the Site Manager for the Farm Business Incubator, Ben oversees the maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment, as well as the care of livestock, at Glynwood’s Incubator site in New Paltz.
