On Thursday, May 5, the 65th annual National Day of Prayer will be observed, with events taking place at courthouse steps, parks, offices, government buildings, churches and homes all over the United States.
For more than 10 years, local Madison churches have worked together to host an event on the National Day of Prayer for the Madison community and the surrounding area. This year’s event will be held at the Madison Central School cafeteria Thursday, May 5, at 7 p.m.
Following an introduction of patriotic songs and hymns, small groups will join in prayer using material prepared by the National Day of Prayer Task Force. The 2016 themed prayer guide provides scripture and detailed prayer points for government, church, military, family, education, media and business.
All are welcome to join us in appealing to Almighty God for his grace and mercy for our nation, our state, our local community and our personal concerns. For more information contact Beverly Settle, event coordinator, at 315-893-1781.
