chicken-bbqThe Town of Madison Historical Society will host a Chicken BBQ Dinner at the Madison Historical Society building (the old American Legion), 3606 South Street, Madison on Saturday, May 14thfrom 10:30 am until sold out.

The dinner includes outdoor-barbequed chicken, salt potatoes, baked beans, roll and brownie. This is a take-out meal only. Call Ed Jeffers at 368-3871 or Diane Van Slyke at 729-8323 for your order or just show up to get a good old-fashioned BBQ! Tickets are $10 for a full meal, $7 for a half.

As part of Madison’s bicentennial, the Town of Madison Historical Society is proud to host historian Linda Ford who will give a free presentation on, “Madison Foremothers: Wives and Wanderers” at the historical society on Saturday, May 14 at 2 pm.

Learn about “Hannah”, who married the native Oneidan Abram Antone and “Crazy Luce” who wandered up and down the turnpike, homeless and “notional”. Many women played an important part of the history of Madison.

After the presentation, Linda will lead a cemetery walk behind the building, with refreshments following.
