Once again the City of Utica participated in the Keep America Beautiful – Great American Cleanup.
In the past few days over 200 volunteers were out on the streets of Utica sprucing up the City. They collected 400 bags of trash and litter as well as truckloads of green waste. Volunteer efforts such as this are what make Utica A great place to live, work and raise a family.
Thank you for your help and dedication to the City of Utica!
On Thursday volunteers from the Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugee were out cleaning the neighborhood .
They cleaned from South Street at Park Avenue to Genesee and then all streets in between down to Hobart, the Kopernik Park, Oneida Square area, library, refugee center, Thea Bowman, State to William, and they cleaned and prepped the Unity South garden on Park Avenue, the Cornerstone Church garden on Kirkland.
Older refugees who could not do outside work planted marigolds indoors to be used to beautify the gardens.

These are just a few of the people who are actively involved in making a difference in community.
If you couldn’t participate in a cleanup on any of these dates the City of Utica will work with you on another date.
We need to coordinate all cleanups taking place in the City of Utica so we can make sure everything you collect is picked up by DPW.
Keep America Beautiful’ s Great American Cleanup is the country’s largest community improvement program that kicks off each spring and engages more than 4 million volunteers.
