The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its 2015-16 Softball North Division All-Conference selections, with honors going to the top 20 players in the division as selected by the conference coaches, naming two from Morrisville State to its first and second team.

Amanda Labe (Friedensburg, Pa.) was selected to the first team following a stellar freshman season for the Mustangs from her catcher position.

Labe, leadoff batter in the lineup for Morrisville State, led the Mustangs this season from the plate, appearing for 104 at bats and posting a .365 batting average behind her 38 hits on her 38 hits on the year which included four doubles and four triples.

She also posted 15 RBI’s on the season for the Mustangs across 36 total games. Labe had a game best 3-for-4 performance against Penn College, posting a double and two RBI’s.

The freshman also posted a conference best 27 stolen bases on the year, ranking 25th in all of Division III. Labe currently ranks 16th overall in batting average among conference opponents, is fifth in runs scored

(34), 11th in hits (38) and ninth in triples (4).

Labe also collected 105 put outs and 10 assists as catcher for the Mustangs on the year.

Sophomore Holly Gamlen (Cazenovia) received second team accolades after an outstanding season at short stop for Morrisville State.

Gamlen completed the season second on the team in batting, posting a .320 batting average across 97 at bats and 36 games for the Mustangs. The sophomore posted 31 hits on the year, including four doubles, while registering 17 RBI’s and eight runs.

In the field Gamlen moved from her natural position at third to play short stop, and currently leads the NEAC in assists (84). Gamlen had a single best 3-for-6 outing against SUNY Poly, collecting a double at the plate and an RBI.
