Benjamin M GilfusOn Tuesday June 7 at approximately 11:18 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on Interstate 690 in the City of Syracuse for multiple traffic violations. Investigation at the scene revealed the operator, Benjamin M. Gilfus, age 33, of Dietrich Road, Union Springs, NY, was operating with a revoked license, and without a required interlock device installed in the vehicle. He was further found to be in possession of hypodermic needles, heroin, and cocaine.

Gilfus was taken into custody and charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument, and Circumvention of an Interlock Device, all class “A” misdemeanors, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd degree, a misdemeanor, and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations

Gilfus was remanded to the Onondaga County Justice Center pending arraignment.
