CORE Federal Credit Union recently announced the winners of their annual community grant program. The credit union established the grant program five years ago to help groups and organizations throughout Madison County with additional funding for projects benefiting the community.
Over the past five years, the credit union has awarded nearly $20,000 in community grants to organizations supporting Madison County.
Grant dollars were awarded based on the needs of the organization applying, the programs’ projected impact on the community, and the number of requests received.
A reception was held at the Credit Union office in Morrisville where the winning organizations where honored for their dedication to the Madison County community.
The following group and organizations received grant awards. Caz Library / CazCares received a grant to promote literacy with families who visit CazCares.
The Morrisville Community Christmas Program received a grant to continue their work supporting families in need for the Christmas holiday.
Morrisville Community Church received a grant to support the food pantry that serves the greater St. Thomas Episcopal Church Outreach in Hamilton received a grant to provide programing for senior citizen Mid-York Musketeers music program received a grant to support their marching band program that serves multiple school districts in Madison County.
The Smithfield Fire Department received a grant to help cover cost of upgraded emergency equipment to help with medical assessment of patients and firefighters.
Madison County Suicide Prevention Program received a grant to support efforts to raise awareness of suicide, identify gaps in service, enhance and expand suicide prevention efforts in Madison County.
