As a concerned voter in District 22, it deeply saddens me to see a candidate so focused on attacking the values of her colleagues and neighbors. Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney continues to stoop ever lower in her attacks on her opponents and the people of District 22.
Needlessly taking the elderly to court, using veterans, including her own son, to further her political career, and taking more than her fair share of days off when she should be present in Albany to represent us in the New York State Assembly sum up to the fact that she simply is not competent enough to serve in Congress.
The last time I checked, missing votes was not a conservative principle. Yet Tenney missed 480 votes in 2014 alone. Of course Tenney cites extenuating circumstances for each and every vote she missed, but all of those excuses do little for the families that are affected by laws put into place by her lack of voting.
This is reason enough for certain groups to try to expose the terrible record she has, but Tenney plays the blame game once again. Claiming that her opponents are illegally coordinating with a PAC, a very serious accusation, is her only way to explain why she has so much negative press surrounding her. Unfortunately for Tenney, just because she keeps repeating herself does not make this statement true.
With a history of fighting with a broad swath of people, from minority groups to fellow political candidates, voters simply cannot continue to listen when Tenney cries wolf. There is enough division in the Republican party after the recent presidential primaries, and New Yorkers can’t afford to have the chasm widened by an emotional candidate who reacts without any semblance of stability.
I can’t remember the last time that Tenney secured a victory for our area in the state assembly, but I seem to keep hearing just how conservative she is. We need Upstate New York to begin a long-awaited economic recovery, not win the award for name-calling in Washington.
Tenney has made enemies for all the wrong reasons, rendering her incapable of working both with her own party and the other side of the aisle. This is Washington politics as usual.
True conservatives stick to their principles, and right now it is clear that Tenney is pandering for votes. Our district deserves better, and our nation deserves better.

Did you “copy and paste” from another cliche smear article?
Add the headline reflects, it is opinion.
Mrs Tenney is the one being maligned. A very well funded PAC is behind the vicious attacks on candidate Tenney. Mrs Tenney introduced legislation in 2012 to have Mr Silver ousted for corruption that helped lead to his conviction and removal.
