Go on a “Wild Goose Chase” along the trails of Rogers Center in Sherburne. Join Friends of Rogers Sept. 17 at 10 a.m. for their inaugural 5K trail run/walk. Sponsored by New York Central Mutual, this unique event features well-groomed trails with a beautiful view of the surrounding valley and nature at its best.
“We are extremely grateful to New York Central Mutual for partnering with us,” said Simon Solomon, executive director. “Since 2011, when Friends of Rogers saved Rogers Environmental Education Center from closing, we have relied on the generosity of local businesses like NYCM to support community activities, allowing this vital resource to be preserved – and to flourish. Offering new programs like this means the fulfillment of our mission in a dynamic way.”
Those who pre-register for the “Wild Goose Chase” by Sept. 1 are guaranteed a free t-shirt. Special pricing is available for children ages 10-15. Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs for people of all ages. Seasonal hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
