On June 21, State Police in Lee were dispatched to 4766 Struen Road, Lee, for a farming accident.Investigation revealed that 80-year-old, Thomas W. Palmer was splitting wood with a log splitter attached to a Deutz tractor. At some point, he started the tractor from the ground not realizing the tractor was in a forward gear. The tractor knocked him to the ground and continued over him with a rear tire and the log splitter.
He was discovered at about 6 p.m. by a family member.
The investigation is continuing.
