Members of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police executed a search warrant at 9075 North Road in Bridgeport, town of Sullivan, late last week. As a result of an investigation, narcotics investigators arrested Jeffrey L. Burchell, 59, of Bridgeport; Michael A. Gorman, 52, of Bridgeport; and Michael J. Brocious age 26 of Georgetown.
Burchell was charged with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine (a D felony) and fifth-degree conspiracy (a misdemeanor). Burchell was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear at Sullivan Town Court Tuesday, July 5, to answer the charges.
Gorman was charged with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine (a D felony); second-degreecriminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material (a misdemeanor) and fifth-degree conspiracy (a misdemeanor). Gorman was arraigned at Sullivan Town Court and remanded to the Madison County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond. He is scheduled to reappear at Sullivan Town Court Tuesday, June 28.
Brocious was charged with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine (a D felony); second-degree criminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material (a misdemeanor); second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (an A felony); and fifth-degree conspiracy (a misdemeanor). Brocious was arraigned at Sullivan Town Court and remanded to the Madison County Jail in lieu of $35,000 cash bail or $70,000 bond. He is scheduled to reappear at Sullivan Town Court on Tuesday, June 28.
Madison County Sheriff Allen Riley said narcotics investigators worked diligently with the State Police on shutting this dangerous situation down and making the area safe very quickly due to its proximity to Bridgeport Elementary School, and that the Sheriff’s Office worked with the school district to ensure that no children were in the building at the time the search warrant was executed.
