Musicians of all ages are invited to join Jimbo Taylor for an evening of rhythmic adventure and family fun. Jimbo will bring his high-energy “DrumQuest” program to the Cazenovia Public Library on Friday, July 22nd at 7:00 pm. Head to the Library Community Room to discover the synergy and power that is co-creative drum play.
The drum circle is a tool for creating unity; it is an informal event in which people come together to share their spirit and build community through the spontaneous creation of music. During this interactive performance program, Jimbo will facilitate participants in improvisational and co-created rhythm and music play. Drums will be provided and no prior experience is necessary.
Jimbo is a professional musician, workshop leader, and Remo HealthRHYTHMS® facilitator who is passionate about teaching people to embrace the healing vibrations of the drum to unlock their rhythmic spirit and inner joy. He prides himself on his ability to provide an atmosphere of acceptance, energy, and fun.
The Stone Quarry Hill Art Park will host a two-day drum-building workshop with Jimbo Taylor starting Wednesday, July 20th at 9:30 am. Participants will have the opportunity to craft their very own rope-turned hand drums, which can be used at Friday’s drumming event. Registration includes the cost of materials. The fee is $225 for adults and $125 for children. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
“Night of a Hundred Drums” is sponsored by the Friends of the Cazenovia Public Library.
All events at the Cazenovia Public Library are free and open to the public. For more information on this and other Library events, call 655-9322 or visit www.cazenoviapubliclibrary.org.
