Today Tenney for Congress released the following statement in response to the murders of three police officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana:
“In Dallas, Texas and now Baton Rouge, Louisiana we have seen evil, but like those in law enforcement who continue to run toward danger to protect us, we must not let the forces of hate deter us. Crimes like this remind us of the debt of gratitude we owe to our law enforcement community.
As a New Yorker and an Assemblywoman, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know many of these dedicated servants and their commitment to safety, justice, and defense of the innocent has always given me a sense of pride. Across the nation, local, state and federal law enforcement officials put their lives on the line every day to keep our neighborhoods safe and bring violent criminals to justice. I extend my thoughts and prayers to the officers and their families afflicted by these acts of hate, and to all the families of officers who put themselves in harm’s way everyday so we can be safe.”
