On Aug. 14, 2016, at approximately 7:40 p.m., State Police were responded to a report of a one vehicle accident on I-90. The investigation revealed the driver of a Chevrolet lost control of the vehicle, striking the center median, coming to rest on the right shoulder.
The driver was identified as, Mathew B. Manning, 55, of Utica. He was found to be impaired by drugs and in possession multiple illegal daggers. He was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Albany, where he was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert, and submitted to a blood draw to determine the drug content in his system. Manning has a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years and as a result was subsequently charged with:
- Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs; a Class E Felony
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree; a Class A Misdemeanor
Manning was arraigned before the Town of Guilderland Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail without bail.
