The Ninth Annual Kirkland Cyclocross Race will be held Sunday, Sept. 18, at the Kirkland Town Park in Clinton. There are 14 categories of races throughout the day beginning at 9 a.m. and finishing at 3:30 p.m. This official USA Cycling event, sponsored by the Mohawk Valley Bicycling Club is part of the 2016 NYCROSS race series.
All proceeds raised will benefit the Kirkland Town Park.
In 2015, the Kirkland Cyclocross Race drew more than 150 participants from neighboring states, as well as our local community. In eight years it has raised nearly $13,500 for the Kirkland Town Park to help repair and improve its facilities.
The KCX course is a short loop of challenging terrain completely in the park making it spectator-friendly. Each section of the course offers a different view of the racers and their skills. Riders of all ages are welcome and encouraged to compete for more than $1,500 in cash and prizes.
There is also a free kids’ “race” for children up to 10 years old at noon and food vendor, Mangia Macrina’s Wood Fired Pizza, on site to make it a great family outing. Registration online at BikeReg.com is highly recommended, but you can also register on race day up to 20 minutes before your event.
Join us Sept. 18 at the Kirkland Town Park to cheer on the racers, ring the traditional cowbells or just watch the fun! For more information, visit www.bikereg.com/kcx2016 and www.nycross.com.
